Sigyta is an experienced acupuncture practictioner, with a particular interest in helping women concieve and stay pregnant. She has studied widely in Hong Kong and in the UK.
"Acupuncture is one of the few treatments available to a woman that offers a completely drug free and natural approach, enabling her to maintain good health and weelbeing throughout her life!"

Breech Baby and Posterior Position ('Back to Back')

The optimum time to turn a baby is 34 weeks. Moxibustion is used at the outer edge of the toemail of the little toe once daily for 20 minutes for up to 10 days. The baby usually responds during the treatment. The treatment encourages the baby to move into the best possible position for birth - the baby increases it's movements over a period of days until it becomes very uncomfortable and turns. It is not always appropriate to turn a baby and the mother needs to clear ti with her midwife and/or GP before seeking acupunture treatment.

Prepation of Labour/Routine Pre-birth Acupuncture Treatment

This can be started at 36-37 weeks prior to the birth with the consent of your GP or midwife. The treatment gives the opportunity to promote a safe and effective labour. These treatments are often used in Germany with a set treatment protocol to help prepare the cervix and the pelvis as well as the whole body ready for the birth.

Often women seek acupuncture treatment if their first childbirth was complicated and they would like to have a more normal birth next time. This gives the acupuncturist a chance to help with any fears or other emotional issues that are present, as well as helping to manage blood pressure, back pain and other symptoms found in the late stages of pregnancy.

Acupuncture helps reduce the number of inductions, smoohts labour to enable it to be efficient and can oftne shorten labour thus reducing the fatigue the pregnant woman experiences. Becasue the body has been prepared there is often less need for stitches, it can also help recovery after the baby is born.
